Recommended print setup (12×36)
- Spread size: 12 × 36 inches
- Resolution: 300 DPI
- Color: sRGB for proofs; convert to the lab profile if they require CMYK
- Bleed: confirm with your lab (often 0.125"–0.25")
- Safe area: keep names/faces away from the trim and the center fold
Ask your printer for bleed, safe margin, and file type (JPEG/PDF/TIFF) before final export. That one email prevents most print mistakes.
How to edit the PSDs
- Download all 10 parts and keep them in one folder.
- Extract with 7-Zip or the latest WinRAR. Enter the password when asked.
- Open a spread in Photoshop. Look for groups named like “Place Photo” or Smart Objects.
- If it is a Smart Object: double-click the thumbnail, place your photo, save, then return to the spread.
- Keep color grading consistent across the album (same white balance family).
- Export at 300 DPI as high-quality JPEG or the format your lab requests.
Layout tips that make 12×36 look premium
- Give each spread one hero image instead of filling every inch.
- Use consistent gutters between frames.
- Leave negative space; it reads more expensive than overcrowding.
- Limit text to 1–2 fonts and keep captions short.
- Proof names, dates, and venue spellings before print.
If extraction fails
- A part is missing or the download was incomplete
- Parts are not in the same folder
- You used an old unzip tool
Re-download the failed part, keep filenames unchanged, and extract again.
