Inner sheets are the album. The cover sells the box; the inners are what the couple actually turns. A 12×36 inner that is dressed like a poster—heavy borders, a title on every spread, ten equal frames—gets tiring by page four. These files are inner spreads: photo wells, margins, and a grid you can repeat without looking like five different designers worked on one book.
This post is a free 12×36 inner PSD pack from AnandanRB (ARB Photography). Use it as a sheet system. Then assign photos by ceremony, not by whichever preview looked busiest.
What “inner PSD” is supposed to mean
A cover file can afford a big name, a single portrait, and decoration that would fight a story spread. An inner is a spread you turn: two facing pages, a fold in the middle, and photos that have to survive 300 DPI print. If you drop cover-style ornaments on every inner, the book shouts on every page and the ceremony disappears.
Inners also have to talk to each other. Sheet 01 might be getting ready; sheet 05 might be the reception. Same margin width, same gutter gap, same frame corner radius. That is the job of an inner pack. Mixing a floral 12×36 from one post with a Tamil-heavy 12×30 from another post in the same bound book is how spines and trims stop lining up.

Sheet count: don’t print “seven sheets” because a blog said so
This pack is five inner files. That is not a full Indian wedding book. A typical 12×36 album for one event often runs far more spreads once you include family formals. Treat these as a starter set of grids: one quiet, one collage, one hero-wide, and so on. Duplicate a sheet that already works instead of inventing a new border language on page 12.
Before you design, ask the lab:
- Exact spread size (12×36 including bleed or after trim?)
- Minimum / maximum number of sides
- Whether they print as a block (mount) or photobook (thinner page, more fold loss)
Then build a shot list: details, getting ready, ceremony, formals, couple, exit. Assign each inner a chapter. File names in a zip are not a story order.
Gutter, left, and right — the inner-page problem
On a 12×36 inner the fold is a second crop. A couple walking toward camera looks fine in Photoshop and loses their joined hands in the bound book. Put the spine through sky, floor, or the gap between frames. Offset a centered portrait if the noses would sit in the stitch.
Think in spreads, not single 18-inch pages. A large frame on the left and three stamps on the right can work if the large frame is the sentence and the stamps are the clause. Two competing hero photos, one on each side, split the viewer. Family formals usually want one panoramic well, not a 12-up of the same line.
Keep a consistent inner margin. If sheet 01 has 0.75 in and sheet 04 has a thick ornamental frame that eats an inch, the photos jump when you flip. Hide extra décor groups until the photos sit, then add only what still fits the margin you already used.
Make five different PSDs feel like one album
Inner packs fail when every file is a different “theme.” Pick rules and copy them:
- One background family — cream, marble, or a soft wash. Don’t jump from red velvet to pastel mint unless the day actually changed location and you want that chapter break.
- One frame language — thin white, no frame, or a single gold rule. Not all three.
- Type only where it earns a place — a chapter word (“Ceremony”) once, not captions under every candid. Proof names and dates; inner typos are as permanent as cover typos.
- Color from the clothes, not from the PSD default. Recolor overlays to the lehenga or sherwani. Clip adjustments to décor, not to faces.
White space on an inner is not unfinished work. A 12×36 collage with 16 photos is usually 12 photos too many. If two frames say the same hug, delete one and let the remaining print larger.
Editing inners without destroying print
- Duplicate each PSD. Keep a clean master of the pack.
- Turn off overlay groups. Place photos in the empty wells so you can see crop and gutter first.
- Replace Smart Objects. Mask to eyes and jewelry; don’t squash a group formal to fill a decorative oval.
- Match skin and lighting across the spread, then across the next sheet in the same chapter. Tungsten mandap vs outdoor shade is the usual break.
- Restore décor one group at a time. Delete anything on a face or in the fold.
- Work at 12 × 36 in, 300 DPI. Edit in RGB unless the lab already gave a profile. Convert on a duplicate at the end if they require CMYK.
- Export JPEG quality 10–12 or the lab’s PDF. Name files by page order (
03-ceremony.psd), not by the original zip names.
Bleed is typically 0.125–0.25 in — use the lab’s number. Keep faces out of trim and out of the gutter. A panoramic venue wide belongs on an inner; it does not belong with a thick temple border stealing the sky.
Sheet previews
These are layout previews. After download, open one file, confirm photo wells and type, then duplicate that grid for extra pages instead of mixing unrelated packs.

FAQ
Is this a full album?
No. It is a set of inner grids. Duplicate the sheets that fit your chapter count. Don’t mix unrelated sizes in one bind.
Can I resize these to 12×30?
Not cleanly. You would rebuild wells and margins. Use a native 12×30 pack if that is what the lab prints.
Cover file in this zip?
These are inners. Design or pick a cover separately and match its margin and color, or the first flip will feel like a different book.
Paid client albums?
This page is personal use. Don’t redistribute the PSDs. Client work needs rights that cover that use.
Final notes
Inner sheets should disappear into the day: same margins, protected gutter, one hero per spread, color from the clothes. Name your exports in page order and proof every date before the lab run. If a Drive link fails, comment with the file number and the exact error.
